Clara M. Eagle Gallery

The Clara M. Eagle Gallery is a multi-level exhibition art gallery located on the Murray State University campus.

While it may not feature web design in it’s art collection, it serves as a unique source for experiencing fine art “first hand,” for the Department of Art.  Eagle Gallery is home to two National Juried Shows.

  1. The Magic Silver – a biennial photography competition.
  2. The Kentucky National is a national juried show showcases all media with new media being its emphasis.

The main gallery recently featured contemporary art from all regions of the U.S., African art, Spanish contemporary tapestries, ironwork (functional and nonfunctional) and contemporary woodworking.

Over 1,200 artworks make up the permanent collection of this gallery in additional to the pieces that are on display during temporary shows.

Art Exhibitions

Each spring the annual student art exhibition, sponsored by the Organization of Murray Art Students (OMAS) is hosted in the Eagle Gallery. Cash awards for artistic excellence and scholarship are available to the students participating.
